Tilman Gallant - 2017

Inducted - August 5, 2017

Tilman Gallant - nicknamed the "Godfather of PEI Powerlifting" has been competing way before PEIPLA was even a thought. At the time he started competing he had to find elsewhere to compete, by way of Nova Scotia and other provinces.

Tilman has held many records, whether it be Provincial or National. He has been chasing some World Records which he believes can be achievable when he reaches his M4 years which start the year he turns 70 years old. Tilman has also competed on the National and World state countless times and he states that he isn't finished with it yet, and thinks his best years on the platform are yet to come!

Tilman is well known for his stories of the olden days in Powerlifting, his iconic Bench shoes, and for being an excellent competitor on and off the platform. He isn't the kind of person to turn someone away who wants to talk about the sport of Powerlifting and most importantly The Benchpress. Many lifters have a story or two when they started Powerlifting and Tilman greeted them to talk strategy on how to increase there lifts, the rules of the game, or just to strike up a conversation.

Aside from being a competitive Powerlifter, he is also a Provincial level Referee. His hobbies include fishing quahogs, spending time with his family which includes his wife Deni, and his two daughters. We are happy to announce that the 2017 inductee to the Prince Edward Island Powerlifting Association Hall of Fame is none other than Tilman Gallant.
